Central New York Artists Help You Paint Something Special for Mom
It's easy to lose track of the time, the day, even the week while in quarantine. Take this as a reminder that Mother's Day is right around the corner on Sunday, May 10, and even though quarantine has made a lot of things more difficult, the solution to saving Mother's Day may come with a touch of creativity.
A few local spots are opening their (virtual) doors this week for some online painting sessions. With the help of some central New York artists, you'll be on your way to creating the perfect quarantine gift for mom.
1. BB Designs - Free Facebook Live
BB Designs in New Hartford kicks off Mother's Day weekend a little early for a free art session on their Facebook page. From 1 to 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, Artist Angela will guide kids and adults ages 6 and up through the session, using some painting supplies and a smile.
2. Painting With a Twist - Llama Mama & Me
Painting With a Twist in New Hartford continues the Mother's Day artistry mom will love with a "Llama Mama & Me" painting session on their Facebook page on Saturday, May 9. You'll need to grab tickets for this event, which are $10 for a set and can be purchased on the studio's website. Painting With a Twist is also selling supply kits, which include pre-sketched canvases and are available for curbside pickups ahead of the event.
3. Painting With a Twist - Mom's Joyful Garden
Painting With a Twist rounds out Mother's Day weekend with another Facebook Live session that moms will love to participate in with a glass of wine Sunday afternoon. From 2 to 4 p.m. on May 10, artist Erin Horender will guide participants in painting "Mom's Joyful Garden. Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased on the studio's website. Painting With a Twist will again be selling supply kits for this session, which include a bird stencil and will be available for curbside pickup ahead of the event.
