If you're planning on heading to Utica's St. Patrick's Day celebration, you can do one simple thing to help feel hungry children and families in CNY.

All you have to do is bring a non-perishable food item with you to the St. Patrick's Day parade on Saturday March 17, and volunteers from Mother Marianne's West Side Kitchen will collect them.

The volunteers will be walking up and down the parade route with wheelbarrows, so you can simply wait for one of them to pass by and that's it. You've now helped feed hungry mouths in your community.

Don't forget to check the expiration date to make sure your items are still usable.
