Fed Up With Flooding, Whitesboro Resident Puts Block Up For Sale

Looking for some water front property in central New York? There's a whole block for sale in Whitesboro.

Whitesboro residents are fed up with the flooding problems. Many were forced to evacuate their homes during the Halloween flood. Now one resident is putting the whole block up for sale.

A sign by the funeral home on Main Street in Whitesboro reads "Block 4 sale." Interested? Just call 1-800-FED-UP!

$1 million in flood assistance funding is being made available. Half will be allocated to residents and businessesthrough the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties. To see if you qualify, call the Community Foundation at 315-735-8212 between 11AM-4:30PM.

The rest of the funding will be divided among municipalities in need of assistance. Those areas are being asked to contact Oneida County Public Works at 315-793-6213.
