Erin Hamlin Finishes 6th in Final Olympic Games
In what may have been Erin Hamlin's final Olympics, the Remsen native finished 6th in the women's luge. She was 5th after her first two runs but fell short of bringing home another medal after winning Bronze in the 2014 Sochi Games.
Hamlin has said she was retiring after this year's Games. But will she change her mind after failing to bring home another Olympic medal? Only time will tell.
Hamlin and central New York were well represented during the Olympics as she carried the U.S. flag during the opening ceremonies and put Remsen, New York on the map during an NBC feature.
Medal or not, Erin Hamlin is a winner to all central New Yorkers and will likely be welcomed home as one, just as she was 4 years ago.
WAY TO GO ERIN! We're all proud of you.
Old Forge's Maddie Phaneuf makes her Olympic debut Wednesday, February 14th at 6am, competing in the 15K individual biathlon.
