How much easier would it be to go camping for the weekend if you didn't have to load all the equipment before you took off? A partnership between New York and a tenting company will ease the burden at four Hudson Valley State Parks this summer.

The partnership with Tentrr will provide 45 campsites outfitted with tents on raised platforms complete with a queen size bed and an array of equipment. The sites are already setup and ready to use when you arrive, giving you more time to enjoy your getaway. Plus it ends the usual family spats started by struggling to get the tent up or the important items you forgot to pack.

The sites are located at the Sebago and Silver Mine areas of Harriman State Park in Orange and Rockland Counties; Taconic State Park and Lake Taghkanic State Park in Columbia County; and Mills-Norrie State Park in Dutchess County. In addition to a 10-foot by 12-foot, canvas-walled tent and bed, each site comes with a propane heating source, a solar-powered "sun" shower, a camp toilet, water container, Adirondack chairs, a fire pit, grill, and a picnic table with storage and benches.

Accommodations are available for single, double, and triple sites. Singles sleep up to six with a main tent and a pop-up tent, double sites have a capacity for 12 with two main tents and two pop-up tents, while triples can accommodate group camping.

Reservations are open now and can be made up to six months in advance. Campsites open May 10 at a cost of $135 a night. Polly shared the story of a similar setup with Tentrr at Camp Rockaway on the Champlain Canal.
