What if We Dyed the Mohawk River Green for St. Patrick’s Day?

Chicago does it every year. They dye the Chicago River green in honor of St. Patrick's Day. I think it would be cool if we did that to the Mohawk River.

Every year members of the plumbers' union dye the Chicago River green for St. Patrick's Day. They've been doing this since 1962.

It takes five hours to dye the entire river green, and they use about 40 pounds of powdered green vegetable dye to get the job done.

After watching the video, and getting into the St. Patrick's Day spirit, I was thinking of how cool this would be right here in Central New York. Really! Imagine the St. Patrick's Day Parade, then a walk around Utica. You could go over the bridges and see the green festive waters.

I think this is something we need to look into for next year.
