A new study shows that women love men who eat meat. When women were asked to rate a guy based on his diet only, they said vegetarians weren't nearly as macho as those who ate meat.

"Meat has been closely associated with power and privilege and a staple for the gentry, and a rare treat for the peasants," says study leader Dr. Steven Heine of the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. He says that although men who don't eat meat are seen as more "principled," they are also seen as "less manly" than those who do eat meat.

The study also found that herbivores were rated as more liberal and pacifist.

I found this story very interesting because it hit close to home. Here's my story: I haven't eaten meat in close to five years. Actually, I'm a vegan. That means I don't eat meat, dairy, eggs or fish. Many ask, "what do you eat?" I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, tofu and soy. It seems limited, but it's actually not--there's so much a vegan can indulge in. I bet you didn't know that Oreos are considered vegan. Yup, they are!

Now, do I consider myself manly? Well, manly is in the eye of the beholder, I guess.

I'd love to hear your input. Do you feel eating meat makes the man?
