Darius Rucker is officially a member of the Grand Ole Opry, his dream come true.  His induction ceremony took place during Tuesday night's show.  Vince Gill was on hand to welcome Darius into the Opry family. 'I don't think there's a more beloved guy in our music than you. I think everybody adores you. You'll find this place to be one of the greatest homes you'll ever have.  Thanks for wanting to be a country music singer.  Congratulations.'

When the cheering and clapping finally died down, Darius told the crowd, 'this honor is a labor of love. I love country music, ever since the first time I saw Hee Haw. Vince, I couldn't think of anyone I'd want more, standing her giving this to me. You believed in me before this record came out.'  With tears streaming down his face, Darius relived a moment he had before the show.  'I was sitting here during rehearsals and there was nobody in here.  I looked up into the stands and I thought to myself, somewhere in those stands my mom is looking at me and it just blew me away.  This means more to me than you'll ever know.'

Watch the tearful induction and try not to cry along with Darius.  I couldn't help it.  Every time I see a man cry, I tear up.  Plus, I've been a Darius fan for years.  I have every Hootie & the Blowfish CD made.  When he moved into country music, I remember jumping up and down in my office.  Now I have both country CD's he's released and love both.  Can't wait to hear the next one.

Welcome home Darius Rucker.
