The community is coming together once again to help a Middleville volunteer firefighter who lost his wife to cancer last year. Donnie Morgan lost his wife Michele in April 2015 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. He's been working and caring for his stepson Taz, which leaves little time for the daily chores, like mowing the lawn. Neighbors have pitched in to help but now the Morgan's mower is broke. So the community is hoping to help get the family a new one.

A family friend has set up a Go Fund Me account to help raise enough money to buy the Morgan's a mower.

"We're going to group together and get a new riding mower for Mr. Morgan. He lost his wife April 2015 after a short 7 month battle with Pancreatic Cancer. He & his wife both spent many years in our local fire department. When she passed away her son was also left behind to be cared for, who is very active in school sports & keeps his step dad going all the time. Her income being taken meant he is alone to support their home and family.

They mow a large yard and it takes a good mower so we are looking for support from the community to help get the Morgan family a new riding mower & put a relief on his shoulders too. One that is good quality and will allow for the teenage son to go out and mow during the week while his step dad is stuck at work."

Michele Morgan didn't fight her cancer alone. She had an entire community supporting her. A benefit showed how far the community would go to help one of their own. Hundreds of people showed up, including several public officials, who got a pie in the face, myself included.

Friends are hoping the community will come together again to help get the Morgan's a Mower.
