If you're looking to buy pumpkins this fall time, you may be out of luck. Central New York may experience a pumpkin shortage locally this year.

WUTR reports that due to so much rain we had in spring, we may experience a pumpkin shortage from our favorite farms locally. Misty Portner, owner of Cackle-Berry Castle Pumpkin Farm, is reporting lost about 40 percent of their pumpkins already:

"There is a pumpkin shortage this year due to the rainy spring. We think that the bees weren't able to do as much pollinating as usual"

This could mean locally pumpkins may be harder to find, and possibly more expensive.
