If The Characters Of ‘National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation’ Were Central New York Cities/Towns
Who doesn't enjoy watching the Griswold family of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation? Each family member has his and her own quirks just like the cities and towns across Central New York.
Clark Griswold - Rome
Clark is the perfect all-American dad. He tries to get it done no matter. Also, no matter obstacles are in his way. Clark is like Rome. Over the years Rome has been thrown several challenges, and always manages to over come and conquer.
Ellen Griswold - Utica
Ellen's role in the family is the glue of Clark's leadership that helps hold it all together. Utica and Rome are a perfect match, just like the marriage of Ellen and Clark. Both have moments where they loose it on the other, but at the end of the day, they love one another.
Aunt Bethany - Whitesboro
Aunt Bethany is that relative you invite around the holidays and you just never know what to expect. When you drive through Whitesboro and see a village seal that looks like a pioneer choking an indian, you just never know what to expect. At the end of the day you see there is a lot of love and care past the cover.
Uncle Lewis - Boonville
Uncle Lewis is married to Aunt Bethany, and is up there in age. He's at a point in his life where nothing bothers him, or even phases him. When people freak out over snow, people in Boonville aren't even phased or amused. They are at the point where they can sit back and smoke cigars and not be bothered.
Rusty - Deerfield
Rusty is Clark and Ellen's son. Throughout the movie Rusty is close by to help his parents at a moments notice. Just like the fine folks of Deerfield, always on stand by to help Utica and beyond.
The Neighbors (Margo and Todd Chester) - New Hartford
While everyone else is having turkey and egg nog at their Christmas parties, the Chesters, would likely be enjoying duck confit topped with a cranberry aioli chased by a white wine spritz. Seems like something New Hartford would do right?
Cousin Eddie - The Valley (Herkimer, Ilion, Mohawk, Little Falls)
The Valley is a lovely place, it really is. However, sometimes it has its odd and weird moments. Cousin Eddie is generally a lovely guy, however, sometimes he has his odd choices and clothing options.
