Kenny Chesney has been named Tennessean of the Year by the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame. Now, it may seem odd that a sports hall of fame is honoring a country star, but Chesney has recently been submerged in the sports world. His latest project, a documentary showing the positive effects of playing football called the "Boys of Fall", was aired on ESPN. He also donated 10,000 DVD copies of the documentary to high school football teams.

The honor is given to a person who has made significant contributions in society using sports.
