Casey James opened his arms to welcome a new lady into his life just in time for Valentine’s Day. The singer is a new dad to a baby girl, and he shared the news via a photo on Instagram in which he's snuggling her, complete with a heart-eyes emoji.

The singer announced the pregnancy in October when he responded to singer-songwriter Ben Rector and the band Judah the Lion after a concert with a sonogram photo, noting it was his little one’s first show and rating it “5 out of 5 stars." He has not yet revealed her name or date of birth.

James found his way into the spotlight on American Idol’s ninth season back in 2010, swooping into the hearts of fans with his soulful style, electric guitar and flowing blond locks. The artist finished third in the competition and signed with Sony Music Nashville’s Columbia imprint. He released a self-titled record in 2012, but left the label in 2015 after his tune “Fall Apart” didn’t perform as well as he’d hoped on the charts. The upcoming second record on which “Fall Apart” is featured has yet to be released.

In the meantime, he is playing shows around Nashville, including the Grand Ole Opry, according to his Facebook page. James was also cast as “Jasper" in a TV remake of the 1980 movie Urban Cowboy, described by Deadline as "latin music-fueled,” but Fox passed on the pilot in December.
