Anheiser-Busch, the maker of Budweiser is paying for 10,000 free rides through the ride sharing service Lyft every weekend from Thursday, September 21 through December 31st.

The program, part of the "Give a Damn" anti-drunk driving campaign is valid in 10 states and good only in cities that Lyft serves. Upstate and Central New York are included in this offer.

Here's how the program works:

Each Thursday at 2 pm (local time), Budweiser will share a unique code on their Facebook and Instagram accounts. Individuals 21 and older can claim a $20 credit which can be redeemed on the Lyft app. The rides can be taken between 5pm and 5am every Thursday, Friday or Saturday night.

According to a press release on the Anheiser-Busch website, the "Give a Damn" campaign is the largest-ever safe rides effort from a beer company.

The free ride codes and more information is available on Budweiser's Facebook and Instagram pages.

Anheiser-Busch has a brewery in the Syracuse area, just outside Baldwinsville.
