One day after buying a new boat, the owner wanted to get it in the water. Little did he know, he got more than he bargained for after his boat and RV ended up in the Erie Canal.

It happened Sunday, September 24th at the Monroe/Orleans County Line Road boat launch. Kurt Wannenwetsch saw what happened and says "mechanical problems with the RV brakes allowed it to be dragged into the water by the weight of the boat and trailer."

Wannenwetsch lives near the launch. "As a photographer I thought it was a good photo op. So I went over grabbed a few snapshots."

Monroe County Sheriff and Brockport Fire Department handled the incident.

Hope the owner has insurance...on the RV not the boat.
