GRR! A day care that's been taking care of dogs in central New York for the past five years is closed.

Barks on the Boulevard in Whitesboro closed its doors Monday October 19, 2020. "It’s been a true pleasure and honor to serve such a loyal customer base for nearly five years," owners Rocco and Melissa shared on Facebook. "Thank you for all your love and support and entrusting us with the care of your treasured Fur Babies. We will miss them and all of you very, very much."

No reason was given on why they decided to close.

Reimbursement checks will be mailed out within the next 30 days to anyone with any unused days.

A number of local and national businesses have closed, many unable to survive the coronavirus pandemic, while others have fallen victim to on-line shopping. Sangertown Square Mall lost JC Penny. Pier One is gone from Consumer Square. Several local restaurants also closed amidst COVID-19.
