How would you describe your perfect day? For Tad and I it'd involve golfing. We had the opportunity to play Shenandoah at Turning Stone yesterday before heading to the Tin Rooster to 'Pig Out With Polly.' What a beautifully TOUGH course.

The tees boxes and fairways are plush. The greens are fast and there's lots of naturally protected land to lose your ball in.  Just look at THIS tee shot.

It looks like Tad doesn't like it.

From the water and sand traps, a par was tough to come by.  We even had to play around some wildlife who didn't seem to be bothered by golf balls flying by. I hit mine right through this group of geese and they didn't even move.

The golf season is almost over. If you want to get a round in before the snow flies, visit TurningStone.com, but bring A LOT of balls.  We won't say who lost the most, or who won.

How do you follow up a round of golf on a beautiful course? Dinner at Turning Stone's Tin Rooster at Exit 33. We started with the sampler that included fried green tomatoes, my favorite, chicken wings, the greatest breaded shrimp ever and amazing jalapeno poppers with brisket inside. Tad and both went with the nightly Philly Cheesesteak special. We had a few leftovers to take home, but not much.
