It looks like Amazon will be opening up shop in Western New York, with the announcement of a distribution center in nearby Henrietta.

The new location for Amazon will not be the highly-valued HQ2 (second Headquarters), but instead a smaller delivery base of operations.

According to the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, the building will be around 70,000 square feet that will bring a 'significant number of jobs' to the area.

The exact number of jobs created aren't clear, but that information should be coming in the next few weeks/months.

Amazon officials told the Democrat and Chronicle the new facility could be up and running within the next 120 to 160 days.

Along with the facility, Amazon could give independent contractors the chance to make deliveries through their 'flex' program for as much as $25 per hour.
