With all the snow and cold, did you know that snow was illegal in Syracuse?

On March 30th 1992, the Syracuse Common Council unanimously approved the following resolution:

“Be it resolved, on behalf of the snow-weary citizens of the city of Syracuse, any further snowfall is expressly outlawed in the city of Syracuse until December 24, 1992.”

This resolution of course didn't stop Mother Nature then, or now. After this was passed, several inches hit the city a few days later. It gave many a good laugh in Central New York then, and it still does today. Maybe they can bring this law back.
