The race season at Utica-Rome Speedway has been a wet one. Most races have been cancelled due to rain, and racing hasn't happened since April 24th. That will change tonight, with a special race night.

Husband and wife promoting team of Bill and Kim Shea decided to schedule a race tonight to finally get a show in. According to Syracuse.com, Mother Nature hasn't been the nicest to them this season.

"It's Mother Nature. We can't do anything about it," Bill Shea said. "Am I frustrated? Sure I am. But we can't do anything about the weather."

Fans are thrilled and are ready to celebrate.

"I'm extremely excited about Thursday night," Shea said. "We've heard from a lot of folks who are excited about that we're running this Thursday and excited that we're going to get a race in."

Wild West FrogFest and Rodeo will be held rain or shine July 23rd at the Utica-Rome Speedway.
