One of the best things about the Holidays are the television specials that air in the days leading up to Christmas. Whether it be claymation or animation, these programs taught lessons and united families across America and even beyond!

The Top 5 TV Holiday Specials According To Andy

1. Rudolph The Red-Nose Reindeer (1964)

This was one of the best claymation holiday programs ever made. Not only did it give a little biographical background on Santa's ninth reindeer, but it taugh a lesson of acceptance of everyone. Remember this was made back in 1964.

2. A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965)

Any holiday special featuring Charlie Brown is a classic, but this had to be the best. This scene alone where Linus explains the true meaning of Christmas gets me every time!

3. How The Grinch Stole Christmas (1966)

There are many reasons to love "How The Grinch Stole Christmas!" First, it is a story that came from the mind of Dr. Seuss. This special featured the voice of legendary Hollywood actor Boris Karloff who mostly starred in horror films. Also, who doesn't know someone who needs the "Mean One Mr. Grinch" song to be played when they enter the room? This special contains a great story and a great song!

4. Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town (1970)

This awesome story tells the tale of Kris Kringle who was adopted by a family of toy makers and took on the Burgermeister Meisterburger to bring Christmas Joy to all the children! It also has some pretty catchy and rockin' songs! Featured in this special were Fred Astaire and Mickey Rooney.

5. The Year Without A Santa Claus (1974)

I had to play both these songs, because you can't just play one! I really love this TV Special. It's fun, funny, and shows just how hard Santa works! Let's hope everyone keeps up the Christmas cheer so Santa keeps doing what he does!
