Zac Brown Band woke New York City up with a whole mess of country music this morning (July 13). The band performed on breakfast TV program ‘TODAY,’ kicking off their three-song set at Rockefeller Center with ‘Keep Me in Mind.’
On paper, ‘Uncaged’ should not work as an album, let alone a country music album. The new release from Zac Brown Band redefines “something for everybody.” Country, reggae, bedroom R&B… Brown and his ever-growing motley crew stretch the Nashville sound further than any other artist. If they weren’t so talented, this project would fall apart long before the title-track.
Zac Brown Band are animated in the video for their latest jam ‘The Wind’ from the forthcoming ‘Uncaged.’ The band didn’t hire just any old animator for this clip. They pulled out the big gun in the form of ‘Beavis & Butthead’ and ‘King of the Hill’ creator Mike Judge, who fashioned the hilarious protagonist Robo Redneck aka the Six Million Dollar Honky.

Zac Brown Band is going to take the stage for a gigantic audience on July 9, when they play the State Farm Home Run Derby. In a recent interview with the Associated Press, Brown announced the addition of a percussionist, Daniel de los Reyes.
Zac Brown Band have been crazy busy this year, as they’ve taken the stages of arenas across the country and awards shows alike. Currently up for Top Country Artist at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards, ZBB are also in the running for Group Video of the Year and Collaborative Video of the Year at the CMT Music Awards. Plus, CMT is reporting that they have a source that knows when the band’s next album is supposedly going to hit shelves.
