Car Accidents Increase on Tax Deadline Day
Today is the deadline for filing your federal tax returns and if those returns weren't headache enough now comes word that it is also one of the most accident prone days of the year for drivers. Maybe it's the worrying about getting those returns down to post office in time or maybe it's just pre-occupation but, according to MSNBC, there is a 6% higher risk of being involved in a fatal accident on tax day than on any other comparable day. Experts say "pressure" is the most likely cause.
Sales Tax Break On Clothing Purchases Back
As of April 1st, we taxpayers of New York State got a bit of a break. The state has reinstated the sales tax exemption on clothing purchases totalling under $110.

There are sure to be more political fireworks in Washington this week as Senate Democrats have proposed a new "Millionaires Tax" of 5% on individuals making over 1 million dollars a year. On one hand the top 25% of taxpayers pay about 85% of total taxes . On the other hand the top 20% control about 85% of total wealth.
