IRS Filing Start Date Delayed

The Internal Revenue Service has announced a delay in its tax return processing date. The original date of January 22 has been pushed back eight days to January 30. According to Forbes the returns of most taxpayers will be accepted as of that date with a few exceptions for those needing newly revised forms. As for your refund here's a tip for getting it sooner rather than later.

Car Accidents Increase on Tax Deadline Day

Today is the deadline for filing your federal tax returns and if those returns weren't headache enough now comes word that it is also one of the most accident prone days of the year for drivers. Maybe it's the worrying about getting those returns down to post office in time or maybe it's just pre-occupation but, according to MSNBC, there is a 6% higher risk of being involved in a fatal accident on tax day than on any other comparable day. Experts say "pressure" is the most likely cause.
