New Movies In Theaters This Weekend [VIDEO]

Two new movies will be opening at local theaters this weekend, one for the kids and one with a healthy--or unhealthy depending on how you look at it--dose of "raunch". The younger kids will want to see the animated "Dr. Seuss' The Lorax" while the high school and college crowd will be in line for "Project X" produced by the same people who brought you "The Hangover". Check out the trailers and then showtimes at your nearby theaters.

New Movie Releases: ‘Thor,’ ‘Something Borrowed’ and More [VIDEOS]

Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend.

One has the makings of a mega-blockbuster in 'Thor,' the latest in a long line of superhero movies from Marvel. Interestingly enough, this one is from critically acclaimed and Oscar-nominated director Kenneth Branagh, the man behind such Shakespeare adaptations as 'Henry V.'

The other big releases are a nice alternative to the action in 'Thor.' The first is 'Something Borrowed,' based on the popular book by Emily Giffin, starring Kate Hudson and Ginnifer Goodwin. If that doesn't float you boat, you may want to try 'Jumping the Broom,' about two very different families who come together for a wedding at Martha's Vineyard.

Which of these movies will you see this weekend? Take a look at their trailers, then check out a list of movies still playing in theaters.

New Movies in Theaters: ‘Water for Elephants,’ ‘Madea’s Big Happy Family’

Two new movies are opening nationwide this this weekend. One is a film adaptation of the bestselling novel 'Water for Elephants,' starring Robert Pattinson (in a non-vampire role) and Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon.

The other is a sequel in a long line of sequels in the 'Madea' franchise, called 'Madea's Big Happy Family.' It's hard to say which film will do better at the box office, as one looks to be aiming for Oscar consideration while the other is an ensemble comedy with a well-known leading character.

Take a look at their trailers, Mr. Moviefone's Six Second Reviews and a list of movies still in theaters.
