January 19, 2012 It's been nearly 5 months since Utica's iconic Manny's Cheesecake building burned to the ground and little has been done since to clean up the aftermath. Now, according to WKTV.com, the long delayed process will begin as early as today.
August 25, 2011 A Utica landmark for over 40 years has gone up in flames. Manny's Cheesecake, at the corners of Pleasant and Oneida street was destroyed in the fire early this morning. Luckily no one was injured. A baker came into work and smelled smoke before calling 9-1-1. Investigators are still trying to figure out what started the fire but some speculate lightning could be to blame.
