If you have a favorite player there is also a good chance that you have a t-shirt, jacket of jersey with that player's name on the back. It’s the final week of the NFL’s 2011 regular season and only three playoff spots remain: the AFC West and NFC East titles and an AFC wild card berth. The AFC North is Baltimore’s to lose, but both the Ravens and the rival Pittsburgh Steelers have already qualified for the playoffs. Each game this week is a divisional rematch.

William "The Refrigerator" Perry of the champion Chicago Bears turns 49 years old today. "The Fridge" as the sportscasters used to refer to him, was a colorful defensive lineman, sometimes fullback and even offensive lineman at times, whose size was something to reckon with if you were on the opposing team.
November 23, 2011 The "Frog Days of Fall" are filled with "The Boys of Fall", and so is Thanksgiving Day. Years ago, the Detroit Lions were the first (and only) team in the NFL to play their regular weekly game on a day other than Sunday - Thursday, Thanksgiving Day. It didn't take long for "America's Team" Dallas Cowboys to join in hosting a Thanksgiving Day game. Of course, whoever played the Lions or Cowboys had to play on Thanksgiving Day too, on the road!
November 21, 2011 Well football fans, another celebrity birthday during the "Frog Days of Fall". Today football player-turned-TV sportscaster Troy Aikman is 45 years old (I still remember him in those back-to-back Super Bowl wins over my Buffalo Bills in Super Bowl XXVII and XXVIII).
