September 5, 2012 Bad news for movie goers. No, there isn't a new Pauly Shore movie coming out, worse. According to Reuters the cost of popcorn will be going up due to the drought conditions blanketing the midwest. "This is the worst season we've ever had," said third-generation popcorn purveyor Mark Shew, who runs the family's farm in Vigo County, Illinois. The report points out that it's not just movie theater popcorn that will see the increase.
