New York State Senator Joseph Griffo was the keynote speaker at Friday's Genesis Group  Annual 9/11 Prayer Breakfast. Senator Griffo shared his memories of being in New York City that tragic day 14 years ago to a packed house at Harts Hill Inn in Whitesboro. He also shared a moving video telling his story.

Today all across the country Americans remember those who tragically lost their lives as a result of terrorist attacks in New York City, Washington D.C., and a small field in Western Pennsylvania. Those brave airline passengers on United Flight 93 sacrificed their lives, saving several others. We have photos from that crash site and what it looks like today.

Bretagne, the last known surviving 9/11 rescue dog, returned to New York City to celebrate her 16th birthday.

Did you know that Rome New York played a big role on keeping the skies safe on September 11th before and after the attacks? The U.S. Air Force technicians and officers of the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) worked hard to defend the nation’s air.

On September 11th 2001 83 employees of the investment banking firm Sandler O'Neill & Partners were working a normal work day on the 104th floor of the World Trade Center's south tower. Sixty-six of those people were killed in the terrorist attacks. Those 66 men and women had 76 children.

Tomorrow the country remembers those who lost their lives in the tragic events of September 11th, 2001. Many who were killed, in addition to those in the buildings, were many first responders who ran in while others were running out. Holland Farms Bakery and Deli in Yorkville is doing something special as a 'thank you' to local first responders who risk their lives everyday.

It was my first full week of seventh grade. I remember the night before my family and I were at my Grandparent's house and I was sitting on the porch steps making up my mind to fake sick the following day because I didn't have the correct calculator to use in math class and I was still a loner with no close friends.

Can you believe its been 13 years since the world stopped turning?  It seems like yesterday we were attacked.  Let us not forget the first responders who rushed to the scene at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, the people who lost their lives on that fateful day and the men and women in uniform who fight for our freedom everyday.

Today we remember the tragic events of September 11, 2001, which we have come to known as 9/11. For every American, including this one, it was a moment frozen in time. I remember exactly where I was when the news starting pouring in about the attacks on that fateful day. Last summer, my wife and I were in New York City and visited the 9/11 Memorial at Ground Zero.
