Syracuse Couple Featured on HGTV 'House Hunters'

HGTV will shine the spotlight on Syracuse. An episode of 'House Hunters' will not only feature a Syracuse couple looking to buy their first home, but a local ice cream shop too.

The HGTV 'House Hunters' episode, titled 'Cape Cod vs. Ranch in Syracuse' will feature first time buyers Kayla and Caroline looking for a home in Syracuse. "While Caroline wants a classic Cape Cod, Kayla's hoping for a ranch-style home."

HGTV describes House Hunters as a show that "takes viewers behind the scenes as individuals, couples and families learn what to look for and decide whether or not a home is meant for them. Focusing on the emotional experience of finding and purchasing a new home, each episode shows the process as buyers search for a home."

Each episode also features a local business and in Syracuse it's Gannon's Ice Cream. "Gannons, a perfect reason to buy a house," one fan wrote on Facebook.

This isn't the first time HGTV has hunted homes in upstate New York. In 2016, crews filmed in Saratoga Springs, featuring Dairy Haus ice cream shop.

The episode that actually filmed last Fall will air on HGTV Thursday, March 1st at 10 p.m.
