Even though it was 23 days into April, the winter for 2015 had one last gasp for the resort village of Sylvan Beach when a 'blizzard' hit the area.

Captured by Rome Daily Sentinel reporter John Clifford and shared on the paper's Facebook page, the video shows wind-whipped snow flurries around Canal Street where the Erie Canal meets Oneida Lake on the south side of Sylvan Beach.

Of course it's not a real blizzard, which has a very specific meteorologic definition of significant snowfall combined with winds of 35 mph or greater for at least three hours.

Mother Nature is getting the last laugh this spring. (Sentinel video by John Clifford)
