Food, friends and football.  It's been talked about for weeks.   Super Bowl Sunday is finally here.  Whether you're into the game or just the commercials, billions will be watching all over the world while snacking on hotdogs, chili, chips, pizza, wings or whatever else is being served up.

At our house we're having chips, buckeye bars, bacon & brown sugar wrapped smokies and by request, chocolate chili.  It's definitely not a meal for those on a diet.

Chocolate Chili Recipe
3 lbs hamburger
1 lb spicy sausage
2 cans diced or chopped tomatoes
2 cans tomato sauce
4 cans kidney beans
1 lb bacon (chopped)
2-3 jalapeno peppers, celery, green and red peppers, onions (chopped)
1/2 can beer
1 bottle bbq sauce (I use Sweet Baby Rays)
1/2 or 1/4 cup chili powder depending on how spicy you like it
2 squares unsweetened chocolate
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon garlic
1 tablespoon oregano
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
salt & pepper

Pour all ingredients in pot and let simmer all day.  You'll need a BIG pot, because it makes a lot of chili. Too much to fit in one crock pot.

What will you be serving up for Super Bowl Sunday?  More importantly who do you think will be holding the Vince Lombardi trophy at the end of the game.

Whatever you're eating, or whoever wins, Super Bowl Sunday is about more than just football.  It's about getting together to enjoy an afternoon of hopefully, great football and good food with family and friends.   So enjoy everyone's company today, because for most it's back to work Monday.  Who's for moving Super Bowl to Saturday?
