Central and Upstate New York gained national attention on the Simpsons. But it wasn't good attention. The longest running cartoon on television poked fun at everything from our food and businesses to our landscape.

Utica, Oriskany and Mohawk Valley Community College all received nods in a parody of Frank Sinatra's 'New York, New York' called 'Upstate New York.' The song was in the first few minutes as the Simpsons family took a road trip to Niagara Falls, or the place Homer referred to as "the one place that can never decline because it was never that great: Upstate New York."

"Start watchin' Fox News; Stop watchin' your weight
There is no fancy part of it — upstate New York.
They're fond of their booze; Hot wing sauce is great
I'm gonna clog my heart in it — upstate New York."

Most took the parody as it was meant...as a joke, and found it very funny....and accurate. What did you think? Funny or inappropriate?
