Scotty McCreery Makes History With Number One Debut
Scotty McCreery is setting new chart records with his debut album. 'Clear As Day' is atop the Billboard 200, making him the first country star to land at #1 on the chart with their debut CD. Scotty is also the youngest man at #1. He just turned 18 four days ago. The CD sold over 195 thousand copies, for the biggest first week sales for an 'Idol' winner since David Cook in 2008. Scotty is also the first 'Idol' winner to debut at #1 since Suben Studdard in 2003. Carrie Underwood's 2006 debut topped the country charts, but only made it to #2 on the Billboard 200.
