It's not every day that you would thank a police officer for arresting you. However, this story being shared on Facebook is the exception.

The City Of Rome Police Department Facebook page shared a post from someone that they arrested back in March of 2015. This person was praising the police department for really turning her life around:

In March 2015, you guys got a call about a girl smoking crack in her car.. You showed up alright, full force... dogs and all. Heroin, crack, and so many needles you guys couldn't help but laugh. Not to mention a couple active bench warrants."

The woman goes on to write that she spent 8 days in Oneida County Jail detoxing. Since then, she has been clean and sober for 2 years and 6 months.

Well, this message is just to tell you that if it wasn't for your officers, and Judge Amoroso (who happened to not only send me to jail the following morning but then took over drug court), I wouldn't be where I am today. I graduated drug court with over 700 clean days.. Today, I am 2 years and 6 months clean. The day you arrested me was the last day I picked up. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything you did. You saved my life."

The Police Department didn't share a name of course, but you have to applaud and support a woman who is now on the right path.
