Sometimes it's not about how you finish the race but about whether or not you finish. Aida Ford may have come in last but with the help of Lt Aubrey Gregory, she was able to finish and their story is going viral.

Gregory stopped to check on Ford when he noticed she was struggling to breath during the Rodes City Run in Kentucky Saturday. She refused to stop so he decided to walk with her.

Greogry tells USA Today, "With positive successes like Asia's and my opportunity to be there and help her through that, people still care enough and want to see that and be a part of that and share that with their friends and family."

Ford has struggled with her weight, that at one point was 475 pounds. She tells WHAS TV, she decided to take action after her husband lost a limb because of diabetes. Ford started working out and the Saturday race was her latest goal.

Ford and Gregory shared their stories while they walked, including how Gregory's mother battled with her weight too. "To see Asia accomplish what she did made my heart swell. I watched her approach that finish line and I started to hear all the people cheer and yell for her and I watched her raise her arms in triumph. That was a very, very special moment that I will never forget," Gregory tells USA Today.

Ford is a shining example of never giving up, no matter how big the obstacle, because you never know when someone will lend a hand.
