New York Man Arrested For DWI While Operating Lawn Tractor

For those that have always wondered whether or not you could get a DWI on a lawn mower, you don't need to wonder. In New York, one man just got a DWI doing just that.

According to New York State Police, the lawn mower DWI took place on January 19th. Troopers stopped Scott R. Chapman on State Route 16 in the village of Delevan for driving a lawn tractor in the roadway. Chapman was placed under arrest after failing multiple SFSTs and was transported to SP-Machias, where he recorded a .18% BAC.

Chapman was arraigned in the town of Freedom court and remanded to Cattaraugus County Jail on $500.00 cash bail."

Was he on a red mower? Green mower? Brown mower? Doesn't matter, don't drink and drive.
