He may not have been able to stick around long enough to see Kenny Chesney perform during the singer’s Nashville tour stop over the weekend, but Nathan Blankenship is putting an unfortunate situation behind him with some amicable parting gifts. The fan, who bears a strong resemblance to the ‘Come Over’ singer, was escorted out of the show by LP Field security for being a disturbance in the crowd.

According to a statement Blankenship made following the incident, Sony Music Nashville and concert promoters have offered the infamous lookalike a full refund on his $200 floor ticket, as well as “several CDs,” which the fan says he appreciates.

But despite rumors from other concertgoers that he deliberately and intentionally caused a stir, posing as Chesney, the exiled fan adamantly denies any notion he purposely mislead fans with his physical similarities to his favorite country singer.

“I would like to clear up one possible misconception,” Blankenship tells local news station WKRN. “I am not now, nor have I ever been a Kenny Chesney impersonator and contrary to several reports, I do not sign autographs, pretend to be him for financial gain, or follow him around from concert to concert.”

However, he does admit to taking pictures with people who asked.

A representative for Kenny Chesney says that the singer’s camp was unaware about the whole ordeal until the story was picked up by the media following the concert. “We never want our fans to leave disappointed and we are reaching out to him [Blankenship] to make this situation right,” Kate McMahon, VP of Marketing for the the Messina Group said Monday — and it seems that she made good on her word.

Though the 15 minutes of fame was an unfortunate experience for Blankenship, the avid country music fan claims he will continue to support the singer. “Let me say that I will continue to be a Kenny Chesney fan, and because of this press it is unfortunate that I may never get to attend one of his concerts again,” he admits.

Still making light of the event, he added humorously, “The next concert I do attend will be one where the artist does not look similar to me.”
