Despite an early weather scare there was one heck of a concert that took place this past Thursday at Vernon Downs. Jerrod Niemann and Love and Theft brought the Grand Stand down. It was awesome to see so many people come out not only for a great country concert but to support the Food Bank of Central New York!

Not only was Jerrod great, but Love and Theft opened things up and rocked the clouds and rain right out of the sky! They played just about an hour and really put on a great show!

Jerrod Niemann was really rockin.' He play all of his great singles including "Lover,Lover," "Shinin' On Me," and "Drink To That All Night." He also played his latest single "Donkey," which was awesome because his percussionist came out with a Donkey head on and played Banjo. He also played his next single "Buzz Back Girl," a song about women being the cure to hangovers. He was funny too! He would speak in between every song and one of the best lines of the night was,

All you country girls out there are 10s*, but after I have this drink y'all will be 11s

For those of you who don't know what a "10" is in regards to women, it's a ranking system for how attractive they are.

So even though things were a little damp, the crowd didn't need to be dry to have a great time and enjoy this show!

Even Elvis made an appearance:

As Polly says, "Elvis is here, the show can start!"

The big story of the night also was the money raised for the Food Bank of Central New York. Not only did every ticket sold go to the Food Bank, Mr. Jeff Gural, owner of Vernon Downs, donated $10 for ticket sold and every dollar collected outside the gate, Mr. Gural would donate an additional 50 cents.
