A proposed Golden Corral restaurant in Syracuse won't see the light of day.

According to Syracuse.com, the proposed 11,000 square foot restaurant was all but a done deal in 2016 after Syracuse City officials approved the plans.

The buffet-chain was slated to open a location on Simon Drive near the Lowe's and across from Rt 690, but those plans apparently fell through.

In fact, Golden Corral officials have said that the franchisee has decided to pull out of the deal.

Syracuse.com spoke to Golden Corral developer Lisa Parker who said, "We are still trying to work it. We are still interested in the Syracuse area."

Until another franchisee steps up however, Central New Yorkers will have to wait.

Golden Corral has five locations in New York State in Albany, Colonie, Saratoga Springs, Rochester and Middletown.
