Swing In The New Year and travel back in time on New Years Eve at the Dev for a swing party from 9PM – Midnight. The event is free of charge Era appropriate attire and/or fancy dress is encouraged, but not required.

As the New Year approaches, many to look to the future and plan their resolutions. Just the opposite will occur December 31 at the Dev, when they’ll take guests back in time to the swing era of the 1930s and 40s.

The night, titled “Swing in The New Year” will kick off with a set by DJ This of the Direkt Influence Collective, followed by a live electronic performance by Phungeye. Both acts will play swing- infused, danceable music such as swing hop and trip hop. DJ This will command the turntables, while Phungeye will create music, live, using synthesizers and drum machines.

“We’ll be focusing on blending the modern with the vintage to create a unique, nostalgic experience. We’re really hoping to see some folks out who know how to do the Charleston or

how to rockstep.” said event organizer David Borgia.

The event is free of charge and starts at 9:00 p.m. The barkeep for the evening, Daniel Walter,

will mix speakeasy themed drinks and pour a champagne toast at midnight. Era appropriate attire

and/or fancy dress is encouraged, but not required.
