The Herkimer Diamond Days Street festival this year is focused on celebrating Herkimer and bringing our community together for a fun filled weekend. This event will take place on North Main Street and have a lot to do for people of all ages. Friday Aug.4 the festival begins at 5 p.m. there will be live entertainment, including local bands Light The Fuse and Syracuse band Under The Gun. There will also be comedy acts by local comedians Phil Canarelli and Brendan McGurk. The Herkimer Police Benevolent Association will be hosting a chicken BBQ, tickets are available in advance for $10.00. Saturday Aug 5 the festival begins at 10 a.m. with a fun filled day with a variety of street vendors,food vendors, The Utica Zoo Mobile, Magic shows preformed by Jim Okey, Chinese Auction, 50/50 raffle, and a Children's Scavenger Hunt. Along the festival path also will be face painting and costumed characters from Once Upon A Party .A Dunk Tank from 11:30-4:30 with "Local Celebrities" getting dunked to raise money for the Salvation Army. There will be live entertainment beginning at 11 a.m. with Herkimer local Steven Napalitano. The local bands No Reason & Light the Fuse will play during the afternoon before the band Maddhaus from Johnstown begins at 8:30.
