On Thursday November 7th, The Mohawk Valley Community& Elder Wellness Council will be holding their 3rd Annual Celebrating Life Event at Harts Hill in Whitesboro. The cost to attend is $30.

This year’s recipient of the “Outstanding Caregiver of the Year” award is Father Joseph Salerno of Our Lady of Lourdes parish. Father Joe is also the Chaplin for the Utica Fire Department and Utica Police Department. In addition, he is a life-long member of the community, and is a well deserving choice for this award. Father Joe’s involvement and caregivng efforts towards everyone are monumentally prevalent throughout the Mohawk Valley and Central New York.

The Community & Elder Wellness Council is a non-profit entity that serves as a foundation to increase resources for community based aging services and programs for the Oneida County Office for the Aging & Continuing Care. The foundation’s funds are used for non-traditional services such as the Ramps and Rails Program.
