July 20, 2011 Big Frog 104's Texaco Country Showdown, the largest national country music talent search is back at Sylvan Beach tonight at 6. And immediately following at 7, is New York State Country Music Hall of Famer, the George Lamb Sr band. If you missed the first Showdown preliminary round, check out the videos.

The search continues at Sylvan Beach during the Country Showcase. The winner of Big Frog 104's competition will advance to the NY State Finals where the winner get's one thousand dollars and advances to the Regional Competition.
June 20, 2011 The sun was out, the temperatures were hot, the bands were great and the Big Frog 104 fans were having an amazing time. Saturday was the Wild West FrogFest and Rodeo at the Herkimer County Fairgrounds and it was a fun time had by all.
June 19, 2011 I have been to all twenty-three Frogfests but have rarely, if ever, seen the level of enthusiasm as I did yesterday at the Herkimer County Fairgrounds. Great music from Tim Creaser, The Chuck Primo Band, The Custom Taylor Band, Jeff Bates and the incredible Rodney Atkins along with the excitement of the Painted Pony Rodeo made for a super day of fun in the sun. Thanks also to the Utica Observer Dispatch for their fine story in this morning's issue.

June 16, 2011 Wild West Frogfest and Rodeo special guest Rodney Atkins has played just about every kind of venue from honky-tonks to arenas over the course of his career but one stage holds special significance for the Knoxville, Tennessee native, The Grand Ole Opry. Rodney will be playing the Opry on June 21 and this clip of him in action on that fabled stage will give you an idea of what a great show we can expect Saturday at the Herkimer County Fairgrounds.
June 15, 2011 Rodney Atkins is a busy guy. And a well traveled one these days. Last night Rodney joined a star studded benefit concert to raise money for tornado relief in storm ravaged Alabama. Among those taking part were Brad Paisley, Sara Evans, Montgomery Gentry and the shows hosts Alabama. Rodney will be in Portland, Maine for a show Friday night before heading out to headline our Wild West Frogfest and Rodeo Saturday at the Herkimer County Fairgrounds. Here is what Rodney had to say about last nights "Bama Rising" concert.

We have had the opportunity over the past twenty-three years to enjoy the best in country music thanks to our Frogfest special guests. Some have been established artists while others have been hot newcomers that have gone on to stardom. I would say without question the most exciting of these special guests was Rascal Flatts at Frogfest 2000. Hot off their first top 10 song "Prayin' For Daylight" they put on an incredible show-in the rain no less!
June 13, 2011 Trying to recall my favorite moments from the past twenty-three Frogfests would fill a book so let me just pass a long a few and hope that you might recall them as well. Frogfest 2000 will always be remembered as the one that introduced us to a hot new group from Nashville that called themselves Rascal Flatts. They put on a great show despite the rain and showed us all why they eventually became the superstars they are.
June 6, 2011 It's almost here. A time when Central New York country music fans get to come together in one place and listen to some amazing country music: Frogfest. And, for me, last year's Frogfest has left some great memories.
