Oneida Square Roundabout Approved

The controversial Oneida Square roundabout has been approved.  In a 7 to 2 vote, the Utica Common council gave the go ahead for the roughly $2 million project. It will utilize 85 percent federal, 10 percent state and 5 percent city dollars– but all the money will be spent by the city first and reimbursed later.

One just hopes it does not prove to be as confusing as the one pictured here.

History Channel Pulls Plug On Kennedy Series

Despite spending millions to produce a miniseries about the Kennedy family, the History Channel has decided not to air the series.  Apparently it was a dramatic rather than historical series.
The multi-million dollar miniseries, which stars Greg Kinnear and Katie Holmes as John and Jackie Kennedy, was History's most expensive project ever. But the network issued a statement late Friday saying that after watching the finished product, "we have concluded this dramatic interpretation is not a fit for the History brand."

It doesn't look like Sarah Palin and Kate Gosselin will be exchanging Christmas cards anytime soon.
Us magazine reports that the two women did not become BFFs while taping an episode of Sarah Palin's Alaska. In fact, a source tells the mag that Kate "had a meltdown. She said the food and accommodations were terrible, and it was the worst trip she'd ever been on. The two of them didn't speak off camera.
