December 21, 2012 Winter is officially here. The Winter Soltice took place today at 6:21 a.m.. According to "The Old Farmer's Almanac", this is the earliest that winter has arrived since 1896. It's also the shortest day of the year with only nine hours and four minutes of daylight. Last winter wasn't much of a winter, and we'll see what the 2012-13 winter season will bring.
