Carrie Underwood Prays For Sound of Music Critics
While many praised Carrie Underwood's singing in the Sound of Music TV special, just as many panned her acting. The harsh criticism isn't bringing Carrie down, it's lifting her up.

Kym Karath, who played Gretl Von Trapp in the original Sound of Music, was one of those who wasn't a fan of Underwood's acting.
Love Carrie Underwood but this role is just not right for her. She is lovely her voice is beautiful but acting is wrong. — Kym Karath (@KymKarath) December 6, 2013
To be clear I love Carrie Underwood. Just not as Maria. She was brave to take it on.And this doesn't lessen my respect for her talent. — Kym Karath (@KymKarath) December 6, 2013
Karath's criticism wasn't taken to kindly by Underwood fans or her peers in country music, who tweeted their support.
@carrieunderwood Yes! And some of them need a boot straight to their box. You keep prayin' and I'll keep kickin'. #teamwork ;-) Love!
