You may not have heard of Candy Coburn but she's been touring all across the country for years.  And she's opened for people you may have heard of; Montgomery Gentry Blake Shelton, Brooks & Dunn, Josh Turner, Little Big Town, Lady Antebellum, Charlie Daniels Band, Miranda Lambert, Gary Allen, Zac Brown Band and Darius Rucker.  She and her guitar player Josh stopped by to play a few songs for us.

Candy was at the New York State Fair with Big & Rich a few years ago, and 100 breast cancer survivors in the audience.  They were there as part of her campaign with the Susan G Komen Foundation and her song 'Pink Warrior.'  She also had the opportunity to sing the song at Churchill Downs, the greatest thing to happen for her mother.

'Pink Warrior'

Candy travels across the country, touring with a bunch of guys, on a bus.  Can you imagine the smell of that bus?  Ewwww.  So she wrote a song she calls her challenge song.  And it's brand new.  No one has even heard 'That Thing You Do.'  And despite it being early in the morning, she still hit those notes.  What a voice.

'That Thing You Do'

Candy writes her own music and they say writing is the best therapy for whatever is ailing you.  After a bad break up she put all her anger into a new song for any woman scorned called 'Fools Gold.' And since she did a challenging song, it only seemed fair her guitar player Josh had to tackle one too.  I've never seen fingers fly over the strings of a guitar that fast!

'Fools Gold'

A big thank you to Candy and Josh for keeping us entertained with stories from the road and great music.  We hope to see and hear them both again soon.  And thanks for letting me hold Candy's guitar.  My husband has always said he loves a woman who can sing AND play guitar.  Even though I can't sing or play, maybe the picture will be close enough
