Mismatched Socks for World Down Syndrome Day

3/21, is World Down Syndrome Day, celebrating those individuals with Down Syndrome. The date of 3/21 signifies the extra 21st chromosome (3 in total) that causes the most common form of the disability. To recognize and honor those afflicted, everyone is asked to wear and post their crazy, mismatched socks.

The World Health Organization started the day back in 2007 to raise awareness of how people with "downs" can and do make significant contributions to their communities.

New York State Trooper Neil Case's son Josh has down syndrome and he hopes central New Yorkers will get involved. 'I would love to see all those crazy mismatched socks being worn on Wednesday in honor of Joshman & all his extra special friends.'
