Alka-Seltzer Plus cold and flu packages are being recalled and includes popular varieties sold at CNY Walmart, CVS and Walgreens stores.

The pharmaceutical company Bayer is issuing the voluntary recall of the cold medicine because the ingredients listed may not match what's in the pills. Although the announcement from the FDA does not specifically say which ingredients those may be, it does note that it could cause an allergic reaction in some users or may interfere with other medicines or conditions. The report goes on to say which packages are included:

The Alka-Seltzer Plus products subject to the recall are intended to temporarily relieve symptoms associated with cold and flu, such as cough, congestion, fever and/or mucus. (FDA.gov)

The products were sold at US Walmart, CVS, Walgreens and Kroger stores. What you need to look for is the Bayer logo in the lower left corner. If there's an orange or green background behind the logo, and sold after February 9, 2018. Since this has been a particularly rough flu season in Central New York, there's a good chance you or someone you know has a package of this kicking around.
