You’ll Be Able To Try A New, Tasty Girl Scout Cookie This Year
There's nothing quite like the time of year you see those girls sitting outside of local grocery stores, or inside Sangertown Square asking if you'd like to buy some cookies.
Being able to buy cookies to support our local Girl Scouts is something we try to do every year. They normally have so many great options: Samoas, Tagalongs, Do-si-dos, Thin Mints and more. This year, there's a new one!
The Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways announced Tuesday that a new cookie is being added to the lineup. They're called 'Adventurefuls' and if you're a brownie lover, it's for you:
An indulgent brownie-inspired cookie with caramel-flavored crème and a hint of sea salt, Adventurefuls take cookie lovers on a delicious taste adventure just like Girl Scouts go on their own amazing adventures.
The last time a new Girl Scout cookie was introduced, many in Upstate New York were sad to find out it would not be available due to each troop having one of the two nationwide bakers. The good news is that Adventurefuls will be available everywhere.
"There are 2 nationwide, ABC Bakers and Little Brownie Bakers," said Jaime Alvarez, Senior Director of Marketing and Communications with Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways. "We use LBB. Girl Scouts USA puts out a national press release whenever there is a new flavor – some people are not aware that there are 2 bakers used nationwide."
The sale of the cookies teaches the girls how to think like entrepreneurs as they run their own small businesses and learn skills like goal-setting, people skills, and decision making.
According to Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways, 9 different cookies will be available for purchase this cookie season. That typically begins in December and runs through March.
